Halloween Craft: Framed Spider

I haven’t been feeling particularly crafty lately, but I did do one quick little craft this Halloween.  I had almost everything on hand already, and only paid a dollar for the paper that I used in the background.

The frame and paper both came from Michaels, and I don’t remember where the spider came from- I’ve had it for years.  The frame cost a dollar too, so this is a cheap little craft- and super easy!

To make this craft you will need some sort of paper for the background, a frame, a fake spider, scissors and glue.

I found this awesome paper at Michaels that looks like an old piece of paper with scribbles on it.  It feels nice and is nice and heavy.  I cut out a piece that fit into the frame (I had to mostly guess on this one and trim it to fit), and make sure that the “writing” is going in the proper direction.  Put the paper in the frame.

For larger frames, you may need to glue the paper to cardboard or something more stiff so that it doesn’t bow out with the weight of the spider.

Next, glue the spider to the paper and/or frame.  I chose a regular white glue, which doesn’t work too well with this kind of plastic and the heaviness of the spider.  BUT, I also wrapped his little legs into some of the indents in the frame, which helps him stay up.

Let him dry for a few hours (or overnight) and now you’ve got a creepy little decoration for Halloween!

I hope everyone has a safe and happy Halloween!
